Here is some of the latest information on Hurricane Laura recovery. The National Guard will be distributing food, water, ice, and tarps as needed to residents beginning at 8 and going until 6 pm today. They will be at the Lake Charles Civic Center and at McMurry Park, 300 Hazel St, in Sulphur. Only one tarp per vehicle will be given. They will also be working to make these commodities available to other parts of the parish with new locations being announced soon.

The Red Cross will also have disaster supply and food sites at the two National Guard supply sites at McMurry Park in Sulphur and at the Lake Charles Civic Center. They will also be at 2000 Moeling Street in Lake Charles. They will be providing items like cots, mops, brooms, buckets, PPE Snacks, and bottled water for as long as it lasts. They will also be partnering with the Southern Baptist and providing two meals daily at these sites. For more details, visit calcasieuparish.gov.

There will also be free COVID-19 testing, as well as Tetanus and Hepatitis- A shots beginning this Wednesday, September 2, at the Gulf way Shopping Center, 115 West McNeese St. The COVID-19 testing will be from 8 am till 6 pm.
