Secretary of State predicts less than 50% of voters will show up for Saturday's election.

Last night, American Idol was on and the contestants had three songs to sing.  One was chosen by the Judges, One by the contestant and one by Jimmy Iovine. Joshua Ledet songs last night were "I'd Rather go Blind" by Etta James,  " Imagine" by John Lennon and  "No More Drama" by Mary J Blige. Did he perform well enough to get the votes to make the Finale?

  It was a busy weekend here in Southwest Louisiana when Westlake native and American Idol top 3 finalist Joshua Ledet came home to a huge homecoming. It started off Saturday right here in the Cajun Radio studios with our interview with Joshua.  Then there was a parade, a concert at the Burton Coliseum and then Joshua made an appearance at Contraband Days where I was hosting the Cajun music concer

Sorry to keep you in suspense for so long, but we really wanted to announce the Cajun Radio 2011 Artist of the Year with some flair.  Congratulations go out to Horace Trahan, whose fans got coordinated and put their man on top.  With over 51 percent of the vote – out of a field of 10 artists! – Horace Trahan owned 2011!

The Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Courts office is closed today due to a power outage.  This has caused them to have to move the early voting polls to another location. Here is a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury with all the info:

With the Fall elections coming up soon, the Lake Charles League of Women Voters are putting on Election forums starting Wednesday through October 3rd.  This gives you the voters a chance to attend these forums and get more informed on the candidates running for office.  Here is the list of the forums and which districts they will cover.
