The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury would like to advise residents that the Calcasieu Parish Old Courthouse Building is currently without power at this time.  The outage occurred early this morning from electrical problems associated with a malfunctioning transformer. Work is currently being performed to remedy the problem, but it is still uncertain when power will be restored to the facility.

Early Voting Location Temporarily Relocated:
The Registrar of Voters has temporarily relocated their offices to the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, located on the 2nd floor of the 901 Lakeshore Building in Lake Charles to accommodate residents that wish to participate in Early Voting .
Directional signs are currently being placed around the Government Building Complex to assist those in locating the temporary location.  Other early voting locations in Sulphur and Moss Bluff, were not affected and will be open today as scheduled. More information can be found on the home page of the Parish’s website.

The Clerk of Court’s Office, originally scheduled to be open for public services today was also closed.

All other judicial and government offices that would have been affected by the power outage were already closed today in observance of Columbus Day.
