A Lake Charles man blows two and half times the legal limit to earn is 3rd DWI.

In conjunction with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, the Lake Charles Police Department will be conducting checkpoints tonight March 12th from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

In an effort to keep our streets safe, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will conduct a DWI and seat belt checkpoint Friday night February 27th somewhere in the parish.   In a continuing effort to keep the citizens of Calcasieu Parish safe, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a combination DWI checkpoint and a seatbelt checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the parish on

Mardi Gras is always a fun time in Southwest Louisiana. Make sure you do it safely by designating a driver in advance. The LCPD and LSP will not need your permission to run a toxicology report during Mardi Gras.
