There were no DWI checkpoints this weekend. You would have read a warning prior to the checkpoint. That is how they deter impaired driving. It seems most of you agree.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department did a DWI checkpoint last week in Westlake. Our story drew a facebook comment calling these checkpoints "harassment." How do you feel?

Do you plan on going out the next two night in Lake Charles and having a cocktail or two? Well i suggest you have a designated driver. In an ongoing effort to keep our streets safe and to prevent drunk drivers on the roads, the Lake Charles Police Department will be conducting a DWI checkpoint in the City of Lake Charles tonight and tomorrow night somewhere in the city.

Mark Kraus of the LCPD said that The Lake Charles Police Department will be conducting checkpoint August 20, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at undisclosed locations in Lake Charles.
