If you're going to get pulled over and charged with a DWI, being dressed as Buddy the Elf certainly doesn't help your case in any way.  That's what happened to one Lafayette man this week.  His name is Brandon Touchet, 34, and it's gonna be tough to live this one down.

According to a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Richard H. LeDoux Jr. was arrested on November 17 at roughly 2 a.m., for 4th offense DWI.

Really? Fourth DWI? My question remains ... why is he on the street after his third? With bond set at only $66,000 you may see him get his fifth.

In an effort to keep our streets safe, the Lake Charles Police department will conduct a DWi checkpoints tonight September 26th and on Friday, September 27th. On Friday, the LCPD will join the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office to do a joint checkpoint in the Lake Charles metro area.
