The New Orleans Saints having been preparing for the past two weeks for their first playoff game and will host the defending Superbowl Champs, the Eagles this Sunday.

Head coach Sean Payton decided he wanted to try a little motivation tactic.  This week when the players showed up for practice, Coach Payton had the Saints Lombardi Trophy they won in the Superbowl in 2009 and $200 thousand dollars in cash on display.

As you can imagine the trophy and cash were guarded by armed guards. Payton told the players that starting this Sunday you will be playing for both of these.

Of course they are playing to win their second Superbowl but the $220 Thousand in cash represented how much the players get as a bonus for winning the big game.

The Saints start their quest for their second championship this Sunday afternoon when they host the Philadelphia Eagles in the dome.  The game kicks off at 3:40 pm and will be televised on FOX.

If you can't be by a TV, you can listen to the game here on Gator 99.5 starting at 1:30 pm with the pregame show.  Geaux Saints
