It's been over a year since Petro bowl, the only bowling alley in Lake Charles, had to shut down due to the severe damages it sustained during hurricanes Laura and Delta.

Since then, the owners of the popular bowling spot have been trying to rebuild the bowling alley and come back better than ever.

They have been posting pictures of their progress and yesterday they posted pictures of the new bowling lanes that have just been installed and pictures of the seating area that they said are now finished. They went on to say that they are getting closer to reopening.

On their Facebook page, they are saying they are aiming to open in the middle to late October which if they can meet their timeline, they could be open in the next few weeks.

They even released information for a Fall league schedule for bowlers who like to play in a league so they must be getting really close.

We are excited to see this popular spot reopening in Lake Charles where families go with the kids to have a great time.

Here are some pictures of their progress. It doesn't even look like the same place that we have been used to for the past few decades.

So get ready to get your group together and plan a day or night out on the lanes.  Lake Charles really needed this and we are so happy to report they will be back!
