I have many pre-Laura memories of waking up early on a Saturday and praying I could get a seat inside of the Brown Bag Cafe in Moss Bluff. I kept seeing this place on Facebook with these giant french toast dishes and knew I had to try it. Their menu looked like something out of a fat kid's dream and tasted just the same. From their Lemon Stuffed French Toast to Eggs Benedict with fresh Tuna to their Pancake Burger, you'd leave miserably happy each time. Sadly, Hurricane Laura took the Brown Bag Cafe away from us. I remember going down the list of places left standing or not. I got word a few days after Laura that the cafe had all but been flattened. Instantly I thought I would never taste the angelic food that would come out of that kitchen.

I had heard rumors that they were making a comeback but with a new name and location possibly. Just like any rumor, I shoved it to the back of my brain and just kept it as a pipe dream. This morning when I woke up, low and behold I see a post from their Facebook page. The rumors I had heard were true, they did make a comeback, but under a new name and location. They are calling themselves the Liberty Tree Street Kitchen and will be housing themselves in a food trailer. The trailer, according to their Facebook page will be set up behind Pappy's on Ryan Street from 11:00am to 7:00pm during the week and Saturday brunch beginning at 9:00am.

From the looks of their menu on their page, they will be serving gourmet hot dogs, sandwiches, and burgers. The one item that caught my eye was the New England Truffled Lobster Roll. Sweet lord, I cannot wait to go try it all out and I am drooling at the thought of their brunch returning on Saturdays.
