Living Kingdom Housing In Lake Charles, LA Now Taking Now Applications
Husband and wife team Mack and Rene Guillory are behind the new housing units on the corner of 5th Avenue and College Street in Lake Charles. They are part of a new senior housing community called 'Living Kingdom' and features 1-bedroom units for $750/month and 2-bedroom units for $950/month. Other amenities include granite countertops, appliances, security cameras, and landlords that will be easily accessible. The units are roughly 1,000 square feet of living space or less, according to Mrs. Guillory.
She told KPLC that the housing is mainly for “Individuals with disabilities, elderly individuals, individuals on a fixed income." Mrs. Guillory said that the homes are perfect for older people either on disability or social security, that need affordable housing and not a lot of space. Since Hurricanes Laura and Delta, available affordable housing is still a major problem.
The Guillory's recognized that need and are doing what they can to help, starting with the most vulnerable residents in the community. Mr. and Mrs. Guillory said they want to provide a safe and secure home that is well equipped with all the necessary amenities. This is especially true for Lake Charles residents who've lost their homes to the storms and have been waiting to find a place to live so they could finally return home.
The 'Living Kingdom' project took approximately 2 years and nearing completion. The Guillory's target date for completion is April 15. If you or someone you know is interested in living in this small community, there is a $45 application fee and they are being accepted now. Pick one up today at the head office of “Heaven on Earth Network,” located at 3200 Second Avenue.
