People in Southwest Louisiana is getting ready to clean out the bar-b-que pits and pop some fireworks for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. The City of Lake Charles will observe the independence holiday this Friday, July 3rd which means certain city services will be closed.

Th city of Lake Charles is advising that there will be NO changes in garbage and trash collection. All pickups will remain on their regular scheduled service days.

However, the Team Green Recycling Truck will not be available on Saturday, July 4 and will resume regular collections on Monday, July 6.  Plus all Recycling stations, including the Incinerator and Alma Lane will be closed on Saturday, July 4 and will resume regular operating hours on Monday, July 6.

All other services of the Department of Public Works and other City departments will be closed on Friday, July 3 but will resume regular working hours on Monday, July 6..
