The official start of Summer starts this weekend in most people's minds as we are about to celebrate the Memorial Day holiday weekend.  Everyone is looking forward to the extended and probably much needed 3 day weekend!

Since the holiday is coming up the City of Lake Charles will be closed on Monday which will alter the trash pickup times for residents who have their trash picked up on Monday's.

Matt Young with the City of Lake Charles advises us that:

The City of Lake Charles will observe the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 30, 2016. There will be no trash or garbage collection on that day.

Changes in garbage and trash pickup are as follows:

Garbage and Trash normally picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

Garbage and Trash normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.

Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

All Recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the Incinerator will not be open on Monday, May 30, 2016. They will resume regular operations on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

All other services of the Department of Public Works will also be closed on Monday, May 30, 2016 in observance of this Holiday but will resume regular working hours on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
