Cajun music's own Jo-EL Sonnier won the 2015 Grammy award for "Best Regional Roots Music Album" for his CD "The Legacy" last night in Los Angeles. This was Jo-EL's fourth nomination and finally this year he gets to bring home the hardware!

What was really cool is that former Cajun now Country music star and Louisiana's own Hunter Hayes presented Jo-EL with the Grammy award.  Hunter and Jo-EL have been friends for a long time and Hunter even has played with Jo-EL several times in the past when he was doing strictly Cajun music.  That must have been a thrill for both of them!

Last year, we had Jo-EL in our studio for our "Cajun Radio Backstage Pass" where he came and performed live for our listeners.

Jo-EL posted this on his Facebook page last night to inform all his fans that he had won the Grammy for "Best Regional Roots Music Album" :
