Cajun and Country music legend Jo-El Sonnier gathered up a few of his most well known Cajun and Zydeco artists to participate in the recording of his new song "Healing Song". The song is about unity and hope.

Jo-El Said during a press conference with Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne, " There’s pain everywhere, but if we can bring a little love and compassion, we’ve done our part."   He went on to say, "My mother always told me that music was like medicine. Its good for the soul.”

Jo-El enlisted some of the biggest names to record the "Healing Song". It features an all-star ensemble of the biggest names in Cajun and zydeco music with almost 40 Grammy nominations and 10 Grammy Awards between all the artists on the song. Artists that sing on the song include Chubby Carrier, Joel Savoy, Buckwheat Zydeco, Wayne Toups, Michael Doucet, Steve Riley, Yvette Landry, Roddie Romero, Sonny Landreth and Eric Adcock.
All the proceeds from the sale of the record will go to the Community Foundation of Acadiana.They all volunteered their time to record the song and they also show a video too.  Watch the video here.
