Some 90 days after she first went missing, Mickey Shunick finally returned home today after the Lafayette Parish Coroner's office released her body to her family.

According to KATC-TV 3 in Lafayette, the Shunick family is planning a private service at this time with information not being released to the public.  While a public memorial is in the works, no official date has been set in the matter yet.

The 21-year-old disappeared May 19 after being kidnapped and attacked by Brandon Scott Lavergne, who pled guilty to her murder last week.  He's since been relocated to Angola State Penitentiary.  Shunick fought for her life like a tiger before Lavergne killed her with one shot to head, according to officials.
