In a move that makes you want to say "YAY, justice system," a judge turned down confessed killer Brandon Scott Lavergne's attempts to withdraw his guilty plea.  He also pretty much turned down everything else Lavergne was asking for, too.

Dateline NBC just aired a one hour special on the abduction and murder of Mickey Shunick from Lafayette Louisiana. In the show, never before seen video footage was aired of Brandon Scott Lavergne confessing to the murder of Mickey Shunick and what happened that terrible night.  Here is that video.

The University of Louisiana Lafayette football program has announced that they will honor former UL student Mickey Shunick this season by putting decals on their football helmets.  The team will wear the decals on the helmets all season long to honor Mickey. Our sister station in Lafayette, Hot 107.9, is reporting that the Ragin' Cajuns head coach is supporting tribute fully.

In probably the only move left to him, Brandon Scott Lavergne pled guilty today to the murders of Michaela "Mickey" Shunick and Lisa Pate.  And, in doing so, he revealed the heartbreaking story of how everything went down on that fateful night back in May when Shunick went missing -- and on another night in 1999 when he killed Lisa.
