College Football Preseason Poll Out – LSU’s Ranking a Surprise
College football is slated to start in a little over a month and half from now and if everything goes as everyone hopes, football will be back this fall. The NCAA has released the preseason college football top 25 poll, and for LSU fans, it might surprise you where the LSU Tigers fall in the poll after winning the national championship last season with a perfect record of 15-0.
Nope, LSU is not ranked the number one team in the country in the 2020 preseason poll. The team they beat to win the national championship, Clemson, takes the #1 spot in the poll. Ohio State comes in at #2 while the Alabama Crimson Tide ranks at #3.
I know what you're thinking. Where the heck is LSU? Well, tiger fans, they fall at #4 in the poll, followed by the Georgia Bulldogs at #5. Oregon is six, followed by Oklahoma, Penn State, Florida, and Auburn. That means the SEC conference has four teams in the top 10 in the preseason poll.
Now 247sports.com has released their top 25. Their top five looks like a lot different than the NCAA's. They have Ohio State at #1, while Clemson is at #2, Alabama at #3, Oklahoma at #4, and Texas A&M is #5. Here we go again. Where is LSU? They fell at #6.
LSU football is scheduled to start the season on Saturday, September 5 against UT-San Antonio at Tigers Stadium in Baton Rouge.
