According to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, the parish has begun its second phase of picking up debris from Hurricanes Laura and Delta. If you live within the city limits in the parish and need assistance with debris pickup, contact your city officials to make arrangements. In addition, the parish will have a third phase and final debris pickup phase. Residents will be notified in advance to allow for debris to be hauled to the roadside.

Calcasieu Parish contractors have already determined where to collect debris for phase two and will continue making passes. Residents can make the process easier by sorting debris into various piles. For example, trash can be sorted into appliances, electronics, hazardous, vegetation etc.

Parish Solid Waste Convenience Centers in Lake Charles and Sulphur are open. However, both locations are only accepting residential waste, not vegetation or construction/demolition debris until further notice (no contractors). Trailers are now allowed to drop debris at both locations.
