Details are still few, and no official announcement has been made, but ESPN is reporting that Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints have finally reached a deal.

FINAL UPDATE, 10:25 a.m.: After a busy morning of digging in the Swords region near Lawtell, St. Landry Parish officials have ruled out three mysterious dirt mounds as possible gravesites for missing UL-Lafayette student Mickey Shunick.

Last night, new episodes of Cajun Pawn Stars aired on the History Channel and David Little from Sulphur, Louisiana was featured on the show named "Gone Fishing". Reports are coming out of New Orleans today that the Saints are putting a serious salary on the table -- the highest ever in the NFL, in fact.

The mother of Brandon Scott Lavergne, the man charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and murder of UL-Lafayette student Mickey Shunick has released a statement regarding her son's arrest.

While they stopped short of saying so, Lafayette Police made it clear that it is believed that Mickey Shunick is dead, and the man suspected of killing her -- Brandon Scott Lavergne -- was "looking for someone to victimize" when he picked her up. When asked directly if there were any clues as to Shunick's final resting place, Lafayette's police chief replied: "No."

Andy Griffith passed away Tuesday at the age of 86 in his home in North Carolina. Griffith's death certificate has now been released with the cause of death.
