The Cowboys are looking to get on the winning ways and secure a spot in the Southland Conference tournament but they will have to go through Lamar first.

McNeese State heads into a three game series with Lamar battling for a spot in the Southland Conference tournament.

The Cowboys are currently in a three way tie for the eighth and final spot in the tournament with Lamar and Nicholls, all three with 10-14 league records.

Only the top eight teams in the 12 team conference will make it to the tournament which begins May 25 in San Marcos, TX.

McNeese and Lamar play their first game Friday in Beaumont (6:30 p.m. start) and will play at Cowboy Diamond on Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.). All action can be heard over radio stations 1470-AM and 1290-AM and on the internet on Cajunradio.net.
