The McNeese Cowboys football team will play their final game of the season today against rival Lamar at 7:00 p.m tonight at Cowboys Stadium here in Lake Charles. The tailgate and the game should be a packed house seeing that Lamar is so close.

Before the game, Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns will perform and after the game Steel Shot from Creole with play live in the Cowboy Corral which is McNeese FREE tailgate party opened to the public!

Last night was the season premier of  the CBS hit reality show "Big Brother" which features Willie Hantz from Vinton, Louisiana.

Willie is one of twelve players trying to win 500 thousand dollars. On the very first show,  Willie is already representing Southwest Louisiana by sporting a McNeese Cowboys baseball cap.  So from the headline, you already know he survived the first elimination but he also accomplished something even better tonight!

The LSU Tigers baseball team make a rare appearance in Lake Charles tonight when they take on the McNeese Cowboys at Cowboy Diamond.

The Cowboys are 2-5 on the season and have already faced the Tigers of LSU. Last week, McNeese played LSU  in Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge where they lost 11-4.

I guess you can call this a rematch of sorts when the Tigers have to come play on the Cowboys turf.

The McNeese baseball team begins the 2012 baseball season today.  The Cowboys start the season today on the road when the travel to Houston to take on Houston Baptist at 2 p.m.

The Cowboys aren't playing any slouches either in the beginning of this young season.  The Cowboys will take on the LSU Tigers baseball team twice before we get out of February!  What's even better is that LSU will come to Lake Charles for one of those games.  When is that game?

Texas A&M were set to welcome the McNeese Cowboys for their home opener on Aug. 30, but word broke Wednesday that the Aggies have broken that contract to play Louisiana Tech instead.  The move has left McNeese scrambling to fill the hole in their schedule and could put the Cowboys facing off against a conference rival twice in the same season.

The McNeese Cowgirls basketball team, who are 9-2 on the season, will face there toughest opponent tonight when they travel to Waco to take on the #1 ranked Baylor Bears.

The Cowgirls are coming off of a 89-32 win over Centenary.  The Baylor team they will face is undefeated at 11-0.
