Now that mostly everything has been opened back up, there is a ton of stuff to do in the Southwest Louisiana area this weekend.

Downtown at Sundown begins Friday in Lake Charles. There are no tickets needed, and tonight it will feature two bands: the Zyde-Pokes and Three Sheets. This event is put on by the City of Lake Charles.

Concerts are back as well, with Mark Chesnutt and Blackberry Smoke playing this Saturday and Sunday at the Golden Nugget.

Saturday morning into the afternoon, the West Cal Chamber of Commerce is putting on Chamber Fest. It features a 5k run starting at 8:00am with awards given out after the run, followed by live music from the Barbe Show Choir, Infinite Bus, and the Charlie Wayne Band. The event takes place in Heritage Square in Sulphur on the corner of Ruth Street and Cypress Street.

There is live music at local restaurants, as well. K-Bon's has Ceth Talbot Friday night and Roc & Doc on Saturday. BeauxDines' will have Kaleb Oliver Friday, Reed Planchard on Saturday, and Heart & Soul on Sunday.

On Memorial Day, the annual Avenue of Flags will be displayed in Lake Charles in remembrance of all those who lost their lives defending our country. It's the largest display of Memorial Flags in the United States. The flags will go up at 6:00am and stay displayed until 5:00pm. You can see the display at the Orange Grove Graceland Cemetery on Broad Street.

Be safe this weekend and remember what Memorial day is all about as we reflect on all who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
