The Rally Possum Strikes Again — LSU Comes Back To Beat Tennessee Last Night [VIDEO]
I have heard of the rally cap but now we have the rally possum! Back on May 7th, LSU was playing Arkansas and were down 9-4 when a possum halted the game by running across the field in Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.
After the distraction, the Tigers rallied back to win the game 10-9 in ten innings. Since then LSU has won 10 of their last 11 games. Sports fans and baseball players are known for having superstitions and after the possum incident and LSU winning so many games, the Rally Possum was born.
Here is what happened with the rally possum on May 7th:
Since then, stuffed possum's have been showing up at LSU games and even last night their was one on top of the LSU dugout and even one of the players was holding one during the Tigers rally.
Last night in the first round of the SEC Tournament, the rally possum struck again. LSU was down 4-0 in the 7th inning when they scored three runs to make the score 4-3. Then in the bottom of the 9th, LSU first baseman Greg Deichmann hit a solo home run to tie the score 4-4.
Then with a man on third and first, LSU short stop Kramer Robertson hit a laser down third base line to score a run and LSU came back to win the game 5-4.
The Tigers now advance to the second round of the SEC Tournament and will take on Florida tonight at 8:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on the SEC network.
