The Building on Prien Lake Rd We Have Never Seen Inside, Till Now
On Prien Lake Road, there is a beautiful building that sits off the road amidst overgrown trees. Since I have been alive, I have always wanted to see inside of it. To me, it was just as mystical as the stories I had heard.
One story, when I was in middle school, was that an old man owned it and had become a recluse. "A kid" went and tried to look through the window and was arrested. Gotta love stories, right? Another story that seemed more in line with the truth was that it was a salon that had been shut down.
Now, I have driven by this building countless times. Each time, just wondering and imagining what actually sits dormant on the inside as the world around it changes. Wonder no longer, dear reader. Greg Wise, with Latter and Blum Realtors, has the photos to show us exactly what is going on inside of this amazing, but forgotten, building. Hold on to your Hypercolor shirt, air up your shoes, it's time for a tour!
According to Latter and Blum's listing on their page, the structure was an old gas station, then what we see was built around it. Designed by Marc Davidson, the LA Architectural Society awarded it Excellence in Design. It features 3 floors, with a salon at the bottom, guest quarters on the second level, and "Main House" on the third.
The architectural design on the outside, and apparent "Holy 80s" on the inside, makes me want to call the bank for a loan right now. The backyard has a pond and water features, plus most of the furniture and decor are staying with the house.
