The holiday season is here and tonight the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) will be conducting two separate DWI and Seat Belt checkpoints this week starting tonight at undisclosed location in the parish.
A recent press release states The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has received$153,155 in grant funding from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to conduct additional traffic safety enforcement activities. This funding is for DUI safety checkpoints and other driver safety enforcement.
While we were all celebrating the beginning of a long weekend. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were trying to keep our roads safe with a DWI and Seatbelt checkpoint on the 1300 block of Country Club Road. Impaired drivers were removed from our roads and others were deterred from such behavior in the future.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office along with the Westlake Police Department conducted a seat belt and DWI checkpoint last Friday night June 15th in Westlake.
