Sports betting is here to stay in Louisiana. Both L'Auberge and Golden Nugget have officially started taking sports bets as of this week, and it seems everyone has shown up to get in on the action. The Draft Kings Sportsbook inside of the Golden Nugget is actually currently being housed inside of the property's well-known Blue Martini.

According to sources, the Golden Nugget is currently working on rebuilding their former buffet into their official sports booking location. The new location will boast 12,00 square feet where guests can go in and place their bets in comfort and style. The addition of sports betting in Louisiana means that gamblers, that want to place their bets on various games, have to travel across the country to do so. Until recently, the only places with legal sports betting were Las Vegas, Colorado, or New Jersey. Now, Louisiana has increased its appeal, especially to those in Texas.

Mattress Mack is no amateur when it comes to betting on sports, he lost quite a bit on his recent bet for the Astros to win the world series. Naturally, who else to place the first bet in the Nugget's new betting location? The bet he placed as his first one at the Golden Nugget was a small sum of $60,000 on Texas A&M to beat Ole Miss. If he wins, the payout would be $108,000.
