Lake Charles Police Conducting DWI Checkpoint Tonight

The Lake Charles Police Department (LCPD) announced today that they will be out today starting at 4:00 p.m. looking for impaired drivers tonight. Somewhere in Lake Charles tonight officers with the LCPD will be conducting a random DWI checkpoint.

Deputy Chief Mark A. Kraus of the Lake Charles Police Department told us that officers will be out conducting a DWI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Lake Charles from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. tonight.

They will also be checking for insurance and license plate violations plus checking for drivers not wearing their seat belts and looking for impaired drivers.

So if you have plans tonight that may involve drinking a few then you may want to designate a driver so you and the other people on the roadway will be safe!
