Due to horrible weather, Lake Charles City Court is extending the Fresh Start Amnesty Program to June 1. City officials say the program has been very successful. It started on April 19, allowing individuals a chance to pay outstanding court fees without the fear of being arrested or prosecuted.

Under the program, warrants for failure to appear and failure to pay will be recalled, warrant fees and other fines will be removed or reduced, and individuals will get an option to set up payment plans. Where applicable, new court dates will be set, with no additional fees.

Method of payment accepted for the program include cash, certified check, or credit card (Visa/Mastercard). Please note personal checks will not be accepted. For more info, call 337-491-1565.
