UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the Drive-Thru Job Fair has been rescheduled and will now take place on Monday, May 24.

There is no question that getting back to work after a pandemic, two hurricanes, and a freeze has made it tough not only on businesses around the area but also on people searching for job.

Businesses around the Lake Area are even having to change their hours of operation due to limited staff. Although Louisiana is slowly opening up and changing its guidelines for COVID-19, it's still difficult to venture out and visit potential job opportunities around the area. People still being displaced from their homes after the storms don't necessarily have the means to sit down and fill out an application online due to not even having a computer.

Townsquare Media has recognized the issue and has teamed up with local businesses to hold a unique solution to the problem: a drive-thru job fair.

Normally, potential job seekers at a traditional job fair would walk around a random hall and visit tables of job opportunities, but obviously we can't quite get back to that just yet. Therefore, we have come up with an alternative. The drive-thru job fair will allow you to visit all of the businesses Townsquare has partnered with in one single trip with virtually no contact, and you don't even have to get dressed in your Sunday best.

On Monday, May 24, join Townsquare Media Lake Charles at Market Basket on Lake Street in Lake Charles from 10:00am to 2:00pm to find the job of your dreams.

As you drive through the parking lot, you will be greeted and handed a bag filled with literature and information from local businesses needing to hire employees like yourself. Inside the bag will be information on the business and a applications for you to take and fill out at your leisure. Also inside of those bags will be swag from the businesses and even random gift cards for you to use and celebrate that new job.

Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Just drive up, drive through, and you're on your way to a brighter future.
