Don’t Miss The Family Fishing Festival Saturday!
You don't want to miss the Family Fishing Festival Saturday, April 7, at Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge on Highway 27.
Why? For four hours, from 9am until 1pm only, you will be able to fish for bass and catfish in three ponds where that's not allowed except during this event!
Volunteers and other groups are teaming up to put on this fun morning filled with more than just trying to lure a fish onto a hook. There will be exhibits, gift bags, drinks and snacks (while supplies last).
Organizers ask that you bring your own gear: fishing poles, bait, hooks, sunscreen, and bug repellent. However, they will have loaner poles on a first come first served basis.
The Family Fishing Festival is free, but you do need a license to fish. You can get a license online or at certain retailers.
