Last night I decided to surprise my wifey and grill some steaks and smoked sausage for dinner. I broke out an old tray that I received after my dad passed away in 2007.

For as far back as I can remember, my dad would always use this tray when he decided to fire up his pit and grill something up. I always remembered how unique the outside edges of the tray were and the leaf style design was on the tray.

My Dad made that tray back in high school in the early 1960' in his shop class. So that makes that tray almost 60 years old.

Last night while I was preparing everything to be cooked, I placed the steaks on the tray and seasoned everything. I then decided to take a picture of the food and post it on my personal Facebook page.

Little did I know that when I posted the picture it would stir up old memories for folks. People started commenting underneath my post that they had the same style tray that was made by their parents or grandparents.

How cool is that? Brings back the nostalgia for all of us. This tray is something that I cherish not only because it's a great food tray but most importantly because my dad made it and now I have it to remember him by.
