Prepare your tailgating equipment or your lucky chair, wash the jerseys, maybe pick up a new big screen TV because football season is just around the corner. Here are the dates and times for the first games.
T-Bob Hebert was an offensive lineman for LSU. Since his graduation last year he has been working as a Sportscaster and Sports Columnist with WWL in New Orleans. He is quite a character and has done some great video work. You'll enjoy his "The Night Before Draftmjus."
When you draft a running back as your number one pick you have high expectations. When you draft a running back with your number one draft pick and that running back won the Heisman Trophy you have even higher expectations.Has Mark Ingram ever lived up to those expectations? It seems the Saints have answered that question.
Joe Morgan first signed with the Saints in 2011 and showed great promise before an injury took him out for the season. he was showcasing his speed in 2012 before another injury sidelined him for the season. The3 Saints have resigned Morgan in hopes of big things in 2014.
There was a wide spread panic in the Who Dat Nation last week as the Saints began cutting payroll to try to sign Jimmy Graham and others. It was looking bleak until the Saints signed a premier defensive back and extended some key contracts. T-Bob Hebert even did a little poem about the optimism around the Saints for next season.
I have always thought Pierre Thomas was a lot more talented than Ingram, Bell, Bush or any other running back that has been through New Orleans during his tenure. The Saints must agree as Thomas has been signed to a new two year deal.
I was lucky enough to have season tickets to see the Saints 09 Super Bowl season. It was safety Malcom Jenkins rookie year and he was hungry. He did not start until later in the season and showed a lot of promise but never rose to Pro Bowl starter status. .He has now signed with the Eagles and has been replace by a three time Pro Bowler.
The problem with having a lot of NFL super star talent is that you have to pay them. The challenge is paying them and staying below the salary cap. The Saints are in the middle of that challenge right now.
The New Orleans Saints have announced their opponents for the 2014 season. No dates have been set yet but we now know who they will play on the road and who will take on the Saints in the Mercedes Benz Superdome this season.
