LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana, September 4, 2012 – L’Auberge Casino Resort announces the resort in Lake Charles, Louisiana created yet another instant millionaire over the Labor Day weekend. A guest from Dickinson, Texas won more than $1.2-million playing a Wheel of Fortune® dollar slot machine. Rhonda Alvarez lined up the winning reels at 7am on Saturday, September 1st.

Alvarez and her husband are both winners at L’Auberge. He hit a $13,000 jackpot recently and was still feeling celebratory about that win when he went to bed. Rhonda continued to play in the casino and hop from machine to machine. She said she had a ‘good feeling’ about the Wheel of Fortune® machine and predicted it was ‘going to hit’. She played for approximately 30 minutes before lining up the winning reels and achieving millionaire status and family bragging rights as the luckiest player.

Alvarez is the second progressive jackpot winner in recent months. In February, an Humble, Texas man hit the progressive jackpot on a 25-cent Wheel of Fortune® linked progressive machine at L’Auberge Lake Charles. All three Wheel of Fortune® symbols lined up on the machine, making Wayne Warnders an instant multi-millionaire with a $2.5-million jackpot.

“We are excited to celebrate with yet another big winner at L’Auberge,” said Keith W. Henson, senior vice president and general manager of L’Auberge Lake Charles. “L’Auberge offers our guests a total gambling experience with unmatched service at a unique resort conveniently located so that players can win big close to home while also enjoying winning hospitality.”

The Wheel of Fortune® jackpot is paid when a player plays the maximum bet and lines up all three winning symbols on the appropriate pay line. After the jackpot is verified, the Wheel of Fortune® meter is reset at $100,000.
