Today marks the birthdays of two Cajun music legends. Today is Grammy award winners Wayne Toups and Jo-El Sonnier's birthdays.

Local Zydeco music artist and our good buddy Sean Ardoin has received two Grammy nominations for the upcoming 2019 Grammy awards.

Jo-El enlisted some of the biggest names to record the record. The "Healing Song" features an all-star ensemble of heavyweights in Cajun and zydeco music with almost 40 Grammy nominations and 10 Grammy Awards between all the artists on the song.

Last Friday, Grammy award winner Jo-EL Sonnier packed the popular Downtown at Sundown concert series. i mean there was a lot of people out their for a good ole fashion Lake Charles block party! Well it's back again this week featuring five time Grammy nominee Marcia Ball performing live!

Last Friday, the popular Downtown at Sundown concert series started with a new location in downtown Lake Charles. The popular concert series which is free and open to all ages started last Friday and will run through June 5th. Remember that this year, Downtown at Sundown moved locations from the corner of Broad Street and Ryan Street and now will take place on Ryan Street in front of Historic City

Back in 2011, Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band was up for the  Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album.  We all know that Chubby won the Grammy but have you ever seen his acceptance speech? Well we have the video for you to see!

The Grammy Award ceremonies were back in February and 'The Band Courtbouillon' which consists of Wayne Toups, Steve Riley and Wilson Savoy won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Regional Roots Music Album”. At the ceremony, Wayne Toups was on hand to accept the award but didn't get to keep the trophy.  That is because each Grammy award is handmade which takes a few months.  Well they were finally done and
