Usually a new head coach means an adjustment period. By "adjustment period" I mean a losing season or two. The exact opposite is what's happening with Justin Hill and the McNeese Baseball team so far this year.

The South Lake Charles Little league boys were in action today at 4:00 p.m. taking on Lufkin from the Texas East division for the right to play in the championship game and maybe a birth in the little league world series. Unfortunately, the South Lake Charles team came up short of that goal.  Here are the details.

The South Lake Charles Little league baseball team begins its journey tonight toward the main goal of getting to Williamsport and the little league world series. The team will play in  the Southwest Regional tournament tonight in Waco, Texas. Their first opponent is New Mexico’s Petroglyph Little League team based in Albuquerque, with first pitch slated for 5 p.m. at Norcross Stadium.

It's a long trip to Omaha from Baton Rouge, but the Stony Brook Seawolves will be flying there -- likely on Cloud 9 after they handed the LSU Tigers their first-ever super regional defeat at home this past weekend.  Stony Brook will be heading to its first College World Series ever, and LSU will be going to the house.

The McNeese Cowboys baseball team finished the regular season Saturday with a loss to Southeastern Louisiana 9-5.  The loss dropped the Cowboys to 17-16 in Southland Conference play and they finish the season with 24-28 overall. The student body, parents and Lake Charles should be real proud today for Barbe high school.  The Barbe Buccaneers baseball team are back on top!  The Barbe baseball team who were the top seed in the 5-A state championship tournament took home the hardware yesterday!

The LSU Tigers baseball team make a rare appearance in Lake Charles tonight when they take on the McNeese Cowboys at Cowboy Diamond. The Cowboys are 2-5 on the season and have already faced the Tigers of LSU. Last week, McNeese played LSU  in Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge where they lost 11-4. I guess you can call this a rematch of sorts when the Tigers have to come play on the Cowboys turf.  Re

The LSU Tigers baseball team is making a rare trip to Lake Charles to take on the McNeese Cowboys in baseball at Cowboy diamond this Wednesday February 29th, 2012. The McNeese baseball team are headed to baton Rouge today to take on the LSU Tigers baseball team at the new Alex Box Stadium. McNeese is 1-1 on the season.  The Cowboys beat Houston Baptist last Friday but the game Saturday was a rain out and Sunday the lost in the last inning to go 1-1 on this young season.
