High School football is back in Southwest Louisiana and high school jamborees start tonight. Kids, parents and high school football fans have been waiting for this day since last December. Here are some of the games going on tonight.

So last Friday a bunch of teams from Southwest Louisiana received a playoff birth in the first round of the high school playoffs. That was the good news. The bad news? After the first round was played, only fourteen teams from the area survived to make it into round two of the playoffs which begins this Friday night.

So the regular season of high school football came to an end last Friday. Some teams are in and some teams season came to an end last week.  The LHSAA has released the playoff brackets and we have the line up of games for teams in Southwest Louisiana that will be in action tonight...

Well here we go folks. The final week of the regular season in high school football is tonight. That means the end of some teams seasons and some teams are just priming up for the playoffs. Here is the complete schedule of games slated for tonight:

There are only two weeks of the high school football season left and some huge games take place tonight that will ultimately decide district front runners and maybe even district champions.

It's hard to believe that I am about to say this but the second half of the High School football season starts tonight. Actually it started last night with Kinder beating Lake Arthur 55 to 14.

Week 5 of the high school football season got underway last night with a few games in the Lake area. What is really hard to believe is after tonight's game finish, we will be halfway through the 2014 season.

It's really hard to believe that it is week four of the high school football season here in Southwest Louisiana. What is even more crazy is that several local teams start district play tonight. Districts 3-5A and 4-1A especially start district play tonight because each of those districts has eight teams in them!

Yep it's already week three of the high school football season and there are some huge match ups tonight. Several teams in the lake area are undefeated and look to stay that way after tonight's contests.

It is week two of the high school football season and it is already getting real! The Barbe Bucs and the Jennings Bulldogs already have games tonight that are raising some eyebrows!

  Barbe High School had a football season to remember in 2012 making it all the way to the state championship in New Orleans.  One of the main reasons for there success came off the foot of Senior place kicker Jamie McGee who holds 14 of the possible 15 Barbe High School kicking records. The Barbe Bucs will face Archbishop Rummel for the 5A State Championship this Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. We have found out that the game will NOT BE Televised live but don't worry Barbe fans.  We have you covered!
