The SWLA Veterans Association is holding its next monthly social this Friday, September 10, at Crying Eagle Brewing. The club has been around for a few years now and was founded by local veterans from the SWLA area. Their goal is to be a social group for Veterans in the area that will allow them to fellowship with others just like them. They work to network veterans to help find employment, career training, plus mental and physical help.

The group meets once a month and encourages any and all veterans from the area to attend. There is no membership fee, nor due to sign up. You just need to show up and introduce yourself. This coming year, the group has also added a Mardi Gras Krewe for veterans only. The Krewe de Valhalla will enjoy their first Mardi Gras together in 2022 complete with its very own ball.

The monthly social meeting at Crying Eagle Brewing will begin at 18:30 and will feature a "Fallen Comrade Table" set to honor all Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and Airmen from the last 20 years. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by a veteran-led band called Three Beards. All veterans of any age are allowed to attend and are encouraged to attend as well.
