Louisiana folks are ready for things to get back to normal and as we have seen over the past few weeks, more festivals are coming back in 2021.

The Starks business and civic association presents the Starks Mayhaw Festival coming up on Saturday, May 22 in Starks. The festival has been in existence since 1993 when the first one was held. It has been an annual event for the area until, of course, last year when the pandemic hit but this year it is back and better than ever.

The festival starts at 8:00am with opening ceremonies. Also starting at 8:00am, biscuits and jelly will be served followed by scavenger hunt at 9:00am and a bike parade at 10:00am.

The festival features things like food, craft and jelly booths, dunking booths, and drawings throughout the day into the night.

Unlike other festivals that have auctions, people are allowed to bring up to ten items to put up for auction between 8:00am to noon, and when they sell, you just pay a 10% fee back to the festival.

A corn hole tournament will take place at 1:00pm followed by a live auction from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, then live music begins at 5:00pm and will run until 10:00pm.

The festival is open to the public and for all ages, plus it is absolutely free to enter.
