As we get closer o Christmas we have to accept the reality that there are still plenty of families who may have to go without this holiday. We are not only talking about gifts but possibly food which is something that no one should have to endure.

That is why it is great news to announce that the Second Harvest Food Bank is hosting a "Food From The Heart" holiday food distribution tomorrow. This great organization will be giving out various food items and more to families in need this Christmas. It will be tomorrow from 11 am- 1 pm at the Saints Cathedral COGIC 1717 Moeling Street. The event is expected to assist 600 families but will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We have all had to see the price of groceries increase and making a choice to not eat so that our kids could eat or having to go without food is something no parent wants to have to accept. Thanks to the crew from the Second Harvest Food Bank for this generous act of kindness to the community here in Lake Charles. If you are interested in getting assistance tomorrow, please show up at the Saints Cathedral COGIC 1717 Moeling Street and you can also call for additional information to Natasha Curley, the Communication Specialist for the Second Harvest Food Bank at 337-408-2464
