If you are like me and have been patiently waiting for the day to pick up a Pronia's Deli White Chocolate Raspberry or Champaign cake you'll be happy to know, today is the day. It has been a long time coming but today Pronia's Deli (3103 Kirkman Street) has officially opened its doors and is ready to serve the Greater Lake Charles area once again. The local family-owned and operated eatery has been a staple in the Lake Charles community since 1989.

As previously reported, the longtime local deli and bakery faced catastrophic damage to their buildings after Hurricane Laura on August 20, 2020. Since then it has been an uphill battle trying to pick up the pieces and rebuild. Thank God, they were able to the weather storm and reopen. They are one of the lucky ones. Unfortunately, many local small businesses didn't get that opportunity and will remain closed forever.

On a brighter note, today was like a dream come true for the owners and staff at Pronia's as seen below with king cakes just in time for Mardi Gras, other baked cookies, cupcakes, and gorgeous wedding cakes going in the oven and made fresh early this morning. Their especially proud of the brand new dining area for customers to enjoy all their deli sandwiches and other specialties.

Stop by and welcome them back the first chance you get!
