Just think about this, it's been over one year and eight months since Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana were hit with not one but two hurricanes within a six-week period which caused sheer devastation to the area.

The hurricanes wiped out homes and locally owned businesses all over Southwest Louisiana and in Lake Charles. We saw a ton of restaurants and businesses that have been closed since the storms and have not reopened.

The good news is that over the past few months, it seems that we are seeing some of our favorite locally owned restaurants, bars, and businesses reopening back up.

It's encouraging to see that Lake Charles restaurants and businesses are coming back and we have some good news to report.

One of Lake Charles's favorite restaurants looks like it is on the mend and is making progress to reopen. Locally and family-owned iconic restaurant Pat's Of Henderson's posted on their Facebook page that they have now had a new sign put up showing progress in their rebuild.

Pat's has been feeding and serving Lake Charles locals and tourists delicious seafood and steaks for many many years now. Pat's is known for its delicious crawfish and fine dining seafood cuisine. My personal favorite is the blackened red snapper. It's to die for!

Pat's of Henderson is owned and operated by Nic Perioux and his family. Pat's is located at 1500 Seithbarth Drive and has been at the location for at least four decades.

If you drive by Pat's, you will see that the building is still under construction but it looks like major progress has been made and we can't be more excited for Nic and his family. They have been working hard to bring the legendary and iconic restaurant back to the Lake Charles area and we can't wait to welcome y'all back and eat all the delicious food.

We have no word yet on when Pat's Of Henderson will reopen yet but we hope it will be real soon.
