Millennium Park in Lake Charles has officially reopened to the public after repairs from the damage Hurricane Laura left in its wake.

Most of the repairs are done at the park. However, there is still some work needing to be completed. There will modified hours for the park while further repairs are being made.

Millennium Park hours while hurricane related repairs continue:

  • Mondays - 1:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Tuesday through Sunday - 7:00am to 7:00pm

The park features play equipment for all ages like monkey bars, a spider climb, and several slides. They also plan on replacing the canopies destroyed during the storm to help give kids, parents, and caretakers a break from the sun.

Assistant Director of Recreations and Parks Helen Lewis told KPLC there is a new piece of equipment coming to the park soon that she knows all the kids will love. She encourages SWLA residents to keep bringing their kids to Millennium Park to play and keep a look out for it.
