LSU Baseball Loses To New Orleans In Marathon Game
Last night the LSU Tigers hosted the University of New Orleans in Baton Rouge a Alex Box Stadium and the game became a marathon.
The Tigers and New Orleans went 15 innings last night and eventually the Tigers lost the game 7-4.
The game started out on fir as New Orleans scored one run in the first and the Tigers responded in the bottom of the first with three runs of their own. So if your counting, after one inning the game was 3-1. Then the game went scoreless for three innings before New Orleans responded with two tuns in the 5th inning to tie the game at 3-3.
The game then went scoreless for the rest of regulation forcing extra innings. In the 11th inning, New Orleans scored a run but the Tigers responded in the bottom of the frame to score one of their own to continue the game as it was tied 4-4 after 11 innings.
Then in the top of the 15th inning New Orleans exploded for 3 runs and LSU couldn't respond and ultimately lost the game 7-4 in 15 innings. The game took 5 hours and 8 minutes to complete.
LSU falls to 14-4 on the season and will now prepare to start SEC play this weekend as the Georgia Bulldogs come to Baton Rouge and the three game weekend series starts Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
