Everyone knows that I am a huge supporter of local country, Cajun, Swamp pop and Zydeco artists and yesterday I was sad to find out the news that local country artist Dusty Darbonne had passed away at the age of 48 of a heart attack.

Dusty was a super guy and always had a smile on his face and a funny thing to say to make you laugh even harder.  Everybody new him and he was the nicest guy you could ever meet and would give you the shirt off his back. He was also had incredible music talent.

Dusty was known to play the local clubs and drinking spots all over Southwest Louisiana with his good buddies like Judd Bares, Brad Broussard, Brad Brinkley and Greg Blanchard just to name a few.

Dusty had one of those raw classic country voices and his delivery of heart wrenching songs was always on point.

Here is a song her recorded with Wayne Toups called "Whiskey Chasin" the old Joe Stampley song.
