Louisiana State Troopers arrested a Lake Charles man early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. To be honest the police work in this incident probably wasn't that hard to figure out.

Authorities were called to the 5600 block of common street about 5:30am Sunday when witnesses reported a vehicle had crashed into a business at that location. When troopers arrived on the scene they found a 2011 Ford F-150 pick up truck had crashed into the front wall of Trahan's Hardware at that address.

Inside the vehicle they found 26 year old Justin W. Gillard of Lake Charles. He was not injured and was wearing a seat belt.  Authorities had reason to believe that Gillard was impaired and a breath test for intoxication was administered. Gillard was found to have a blood alcohol level over two and one half times the legal limit.

He was charged with 3rd offense DWI, careless operation, driving with a suspended driver's license, and an open alcoholic beverage container.  No one was inside the building at the time of the crash.
