This post is filled with funny pics that remind me of things you will only see in Louisiana. This is a cool state to call home, and there is no doubt about it. We got the best food, the best parties, the most festivals and the most friendliest people. We are home to original and international music, such as Jazz, Zydeco, and Cajun. Not to mention a very diverse group of people from all around the world including France, Spain, Africa, Canada, and China. As the native Indians, Cajuns, and Creoles. What more could you ask for?

Louisianians lead a different lifestyle than most folks in other states because of the blend of cultures and traditions. For instance, we have our own way of spelling things, pronouncing things, and some pretty crazy laws too. What may be the norm around here might be totally bananas somewhere else.

We have some wacky customs and traditions. I figured sometimes, we have to laugh at ourselves! I came across some funny pictures that helped me prove that point. So enjoy!  Here are 10 Crazy Things You'll Only See In Louisiana.

1.) Goldman

If you go to New Orleans, you will run into one of the metallic-painted men (sometimes in silver) all over the downtown area. They are everywhere and a lot of fun to watch. These guys have really entertaining gimmicks and do funny skits.

Next time you visit New Orleans, be kind and give them a tip if you see one standing on a corner in "still." They really work hard to entertain the crowds.

Understand one thing. Saints fans don't play about their beloved New Orleans Saints, whether they are winning or losing. If you happen to be in NOLA to support an opposing team for a game at the dome. That's okay. If you are not a Saints fan. That's perfectly fine. Just keep it to yourself!

3.) Mardi Gras Bead Tree

Okay, Mardi Gras Bead Trees aren't real. Of course, they don't grow like this. However, you won't see one of these anywhere else but Louisiana. Bead Trees can be found all over the state, wherever Mardi Gras is celebrated.

You will likely find other beaded items when traveling in Louisiana. During the carnival season especially, don't be surprised if you have more beaded sightings of things like cars, bikes, statues, powerlines, and people.

4.) Cajun Energy Supplements

Seafood is another primary source of a Cajun's diet; however, it could get a little pricey daily. For the most part, boudin, cracklins, sausage, rice, and gravy are pretty much part of the main food groups in Louisiana.

It means that you can eat them alone or in a group! During the summer, we throw in crawfish, corn, and potatoes, but they are seasonal. Nevertheless, I would say Louisianans eat high-calorie, high-sodium, fried, and fatty foods. It ain't healthy, but it sure is a lot of fun! Our food pyramid looks more like this.

5.) Gator Food Booths

This is something you won't see anywhere else but in Louisiana. Matter of fact, you will see one of these at every fair, carnival, and festival! Cajuns love some gator! Whether they are eating them, wearing them, or both.

As you can see from the menu above, they love EVERYTHING about em. The only gator a Louisianian doesn't like, is a Florida Gator.

6.) The Word "Go," Spelled The Wrong Way

Whether you're from Louisiana or visiting the Bayou State, there's one thing you gotta learn: NOTHING is spelled right! A lot of the street names are nearly impossible to say correctly. The names of many streets and places in Louisiana are in Spanish or French.

Even the people who live here have trouble saying them. God forbid you have to text tell your location to Uber. That could pose an issue in getting a ride or being dropped off at the wrong place if not pronounced correctly.

7.) Voodoo Grocery Store

8.) A Cajun Taxi

Down in the bayou, the airboat is the number one source of transportation. Yes, everyone has a boat but a lot of times, you can't travel through the marsh that well. So, for comfort, and speed, you will likely see airboats. For people who own airboats, they also serve as a source of income. Many host annual bayou/swamp and haunted tours,

9.) A Gator Door

That's pretty self-explanatory. When you have a pet alligator, you do whatever you have to do to keep them happy. If that means building a barn over a pond with a gator door, so be it. This guy appears to be living his best life!

10. Drive Thru Daiquiri Shops

As I noted above. We have some crazy laws in the state of Louisiana. Of course, it is illegal to drink and drive in most states. However, it is perfectly legal to buy as many daiquiris as you want. As long as you don't take a sip before you get home, you are good to go. Louisiana has drive-thru daiquiri shops everywhere, something you don't see in any other state.

Bonus - Cajun Bike

Folks in Louisiana love their trucks, horses, and ATVs. You will see all three in everything from an MLK Parade to a trail ride. This is why this crazy highrise of a bike isn't that unusual to witness in Louisiana. I'm unsure how she got up there or how she will get down. Yet, she sure looks like she's having some fun!
