According to the Associated Press, cows in Germany gave up the funk and almost tore the roof off of the barn, due to a build up of methane released by the herd of dairy cows.

Yes, that was a Parliament reference.

Police said that a static electric charge may have triggered the blast on Monday at a farm in Rasdorf, Germany. There was slight damage to the barns roof, and only one cow suffered minor burns. No people were hurt.

Ninety (90) cows are kept in the shed, but it wasn’t clear why so much methane had built up. Burping and flatulence (lots of fots) release large quantities of the gas.

It's said that cows can produce up to 500 litres of methane a day, that amount makes large bursts highly likely.
