The city has been hearing your cry for help. As the rest of the world is moving on with their lives, we here in Southwest Louisiana, specifically here in Lake Charles, are still picking up the pieces.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury will hold a public meeting for residents to give their input on the long-term hurricane recovery. The meeting will be held this Tuesday, March 30 at 5:30pm in the Calcasieu Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Emergency Operations Center 901 Lakeshore Drive on the second floor.

This meeting is to allow input from local residents on how they feel things should be handled going into the long-term. You can also submit comments by Saturday, April 10 by completing the public comment form on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury's website at calcasieuparish.gov/recovery. I am a firm believer that nothing will change if you don't speak up and push for it. If possible, make sure you are in attendance this Tuesday.
