Breaking News: Calcasieu Sheriffs Office Working Shooting on Hwy 27 South in Carlyss

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office is currently working a shooting in the Carlyss area. One of their patrol units was shot three times, but the officer is okay.

According to katc.com, a male subject opened fire on deputies responding to a burglary call. The deputies returned fire, killing the man. The body of a woman was also found at the scene.

No deputies were injured.

Avoid the area of Hwy 27 South between Vincent Settlement Road & Hwy 108 as that area has been shut down for the shooting investigation.
