Hurricane Season started just four days ago and we already have a named storm that has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and Andrea is it's name.

UPDATE: Thursday 8:00 a.m.-- Tropical Storm Andrea is located at 27.7 North and 85.1 West with winds now at 60 MPH.  The storm is expected to make landfall East of Tallahassee Florida later this afternoon or early evening.

Tropical Storm Andrea current winds are 40 mph and is moving north around 3 mph.  Tropical Storm Andrea as of 5:00 p.m is located at 25.3 North and 86.5 West.  The center of the storm was located about 310 miles southwest of Tampa.

Andrea is expected to travel northeast and make landfall in Florida.

Now is also a great time to make your plan and be prepared. Here are some tips to help you.

 

Know the area you live in – Is it prone to tidal, storm, and or heavy rain flooding.

When will you evacuate?

Where will you evacuate to? – Have 2 or 3 options

What items will you evacuate? – Will you have to make numerous trips?

What will it cost? – Start saving now

Have a list of important phone number.

Secure you home and property.

Make sure your vehicle is in good condition.

Be self sufficient for 72 hours with food, water, medication, clothes.

Have a first aid kit.

Evacuate all important papers.
