Today Is Banana Split Day, and We’re Hungry — And If We Have to Be Hungry, So Do You

That's right, today is Banana Split Day.  Of all the things that get special days, this one makes me the most happy.  When I read about it this morning, I immediately started craving one.  But I'm at work, and I can't have one.  So I'm living out my little dream on the Internet.  Wanna join me?

If you're really up for torturing yourself, I recommend checking out this Yelp page, which is like the motherlode of all banana split picture galleries.  I don't know where these people come from, but some of these splits look like they could feed Mexico.  All of Mexico.

Or maybe you're looking to go the gourmet route.  Foodandwine.com whipped together a little something featuring chocolate and almonds which almost looks like something I could make.  But I won't.  Because there's that time I almost burned the neighborhood down.

Or, there's the safer alternative -- The Banana Splits!  "One banana, two banana, three banana, four..."
